It then becomes a different discussion because all of a sudden the United States that isn't kind and caring is suddenly seen in an entirely new light.
When looking at this graph it is hard not to see the United States as out- giving the closest giving nation by three or more to one, when one considers that, it ought to evoke two distinct emotions. 1) A feeling of "hooray," for the U.S.? 2) A feeling of wanting to get in on the giving ones self, if one is able, if one sees it as valuable? Are those two feelings present in you when you see that chart? If they aren't it doesn't mean you aren't a good person, it does mean that it is quite possible that the U.S. socio-cultural milieu is changing more rapidly than was anticipated.
Social Media gets into the mix because the large level donations, the enormous amounts of money, flow into the donations centers, it isn't a question that until now, folks paid particular attention to. But with the recent status of economies world wide, the difficulties with Greece, the changes taking place in a U.S. economy mired in bad political bail-outs and faulty home markets; it's becoming more so. One of the primary means that exist to measure such things are surveys. The main question of this writing is whether those conditions have impacted upon you, and whether that has affected your giving? Does the fact that such isn't measured seem odd to you? We keep records, for example, when someone mails in a check, tax records are kept of such, but in this instance, the total contributing power of the web is seemingly being ignored? You may know a lot more about this, or would be willing to look into it and contribute some knowledge to this search?
Finally we close with this video which we hope brings the discussion to some other level:

Point being in wrap up, you are giving, but are you as a person who is involved in social media, getting recognized for that contribution as you should? Let us know what you think?
