Nightmare As A General

Commander on the border says that the Mexican drug Cartels
are posting look outs along the border to spot troops and
that one of his troops has been shot by them?  The situation
in Mexico with regard to this drug Cartel situation is
one that we want to believe will go away, but it doesn't
look like it's going to, does it?

Drug Cartels  the AP copyrighted photo in this blog
shows a soldier who has had to engage them- a fight
with people in the streets, from windows in two
and three story hotels, it's a nightmare fight- the
soldier in the street is outflanked, and now it
seems in Mexico, they may be out armed as well.

This isn't a fight that we can avoid- Mexico is
bringing this fight to us, the Cartel's aren't going
to walk away from the profit, and they aren't
going to let the war die.  Do you have any
ideas about what might be done?

So in the midst of this very real war, the head
warrior calls one of his best General's onto the
carpet over his words?  Gen McChrystal has
been a great General in our history, a leader
who has affirmed some amazing strategies,
and so now, over some statements he made
in a magazine, the political correctness police
are going to call for his head?  It does not
make sense, but then, how many things in
this administration do?

If you have some thoughts on this- we'd
love you to share them?  Up front, however,
it seems to this writer that while you might
want to have a talk with commander of your
forces, it's relatively unreal to create the
kind of furor that has occured over this
review in the "Rolling Stone."  The article
is by Michael Hastings, and, if you read
it, please tell me where in it is something
that would bear all this mess?  Folks -
the top of the organization, the leader,
the followers in the organization will
always do less...so in President Obama's
administration- one has to ask,
would that be possible?

Yes Mexico and Afghanistan are worlds apart, and
true, Gen McChrystal isn't involved
in the drug Cartel conflict, at least not
directly, but remember, that this drug Cartel
war now places America in the unfortunate
category of fighting a war - now, on four
fronts- and when North Korea is thrown
in, five.  No nation in history has ever been
able to sustain such, and what's really
scary is, this leader President Obama,
may not believe that history applies to him.
